Companies have values whether they realise it or not. Ours have developed over the years and we haven’t formally put them down in writing before but felt that now was a good time to do it.

Smart

Our people are thinking about how we can give our customers great service and how we can make that service better. We encourage our people to use their initiative and make the right decisions for themselves, their colleagues, our customers, the environment and the community.

Sustainable

The whole point of waste management and recycling is to make improvements to how society deals with the products that it deems surplus to requirements and find ways to recycle, reduce, reuse, repurpose or recover to reduce the quantity of material that ends up in landfill. That has been Towens principal objective since we started and is what we mean by being sustainable.

Personable

We all want to deal with people that we like. Of course we need good service but so much of good service comes from friendly people who enjoy their work, get on with their customers and colleagues and are proud of what they do.

Responsive

Answering phone calls and emails promptly, finding answers to the challenges that our customers face and looking for a better way to do things are what Towens is about. We understand that customers don’t want to wait around and we operate around the clock if that is needed.

Reliable

It is simple really. Just do what you say you are going to do. Turn up when you say you will and do what you promised.

Dog friendly

We debated this but it had to go in as an important value for us. A lot of our people own dogs and several have cats, but it’s the dogs that we allow into the office and parts of the business where it is appropriate and safe to do so. The dogs really help with the mood in the office, always there and happy to see you, lowering blood pressure and helping to put things in perspective.
